This study introduces the life and economics of Joan Robinson, a world-renowned figure, yet little known in Korea for her research and methods. It also sheds light on the contributions, characteristics, and limitations of Robinson's economics. Specifically, it analyzes how she shattered the glass ceiling and became a key figure in the ‘Cambridge School’. Through Robinson's case, it demonstrates the potential for a perspective different from the prevailing view in the male-dominated field of economics, which views women as victims. It also raises questions about the objectivity and fairness of research on female scholars. The study proceeds as follows: First, it examines Robinson's life and the development of her academic career. Next, it examines the characteristics of Robinson's economics. Next, it examines its contributions and limitations. Next, it introduces several controversies surrounding Robinson's economics to reevaluate it. Finally, we analyze how she was able to break the glass ceiling. The research method utilizes a literature review of Robinson's works and secondary sources related to Robinson.
